Playing Mom

I'm babysitting Ben and Kelsey's kids while they are away for a birthday/graduation/whatever else celebration. I have them from Friday after work to late tonight when they get back. It's going well so far. Everyone is down for naps. I don't believe everyone is asleep but what can you do right?
They have this gate that they use to put in front of the stairs so the babies don't climb them (they're little dare-devils). I took the big kids up for naps making sure the gate was in the proper position and when I came back down Jemma had pushed it and was half way up the stairs! I put the other gate up and that seems to solve the problem for now although climbing over it 12 times to put Aurora back in her bed is giving my legs quite the work out.

Lilly trying to fight thru the gate.

Jemma trying to give me puppy dog eyes so I let her thru the gate.

This is why I put the pillows at the foot of the stairs....

Oh my GROSS!!!

So...there's been this funny smell in my kitchen for a few days now and we couldn't figure out what it was. We mopped the floors, bleached the drains, took out the garbage, really anything we could think of.
I had this brilliant thought tonight that maybe something had dripped under the fridge so I moved it out and cleaned under it which was pretty darn disgusting in it's own rite. While cleaning out under the fridge I noticed that our box freezer next to it was halfway unplugged, didn't think much of it, pushed the plug back in and finished my work.
I moved the fridge and box freezer back to their spots and still smelled the stink. I then opened the box freezer....BIG MISTAKE!! I have never been so nauseated by a smell in my entire life. That thing must have been unplugged for at least a week. I hurried and pulled everything out (luckily not a ton of stuff was in there, enough to be a big waste of money but not huge) while yelling upstairs to Amy and Jared not to come down. Amy has a super-sensitive olfactory sense so that would have just been more to clean up. Amy came down and helped when the main scent was gone so with some teamwork and open windows our house will smell back to normal very soon.
You probably didn't really want to read all that but it was just so gross I had to share it with those I love.
