Y.......why not?

Amy had the great idea to hike the Y so that's how we spent our morning yesterday. When I read stuff about the hike I had read that it was an "easy" hike. What I want to know is compared to what?! It was a really great hike but it reminded me of how out of shape I am and oh yeah, the whole asthma thing. It feels great to have accomplished it, it was something that I've wanted to do as long as I've lived here.

If you think I look thrashed remember that I was climbing a mountain!

Amy looks less thrashed.....how did she do that?

This is the view from the top of the Y looking down.

This is me at the entrance to the hike, the picture was taken after we finished the hike.

The hike is 1.2 miles each way and 980 in elevation. Lets just say I'm glad I did it but I'm also glad it's over.

Cats

All I have to say is it's not all it's cracked up to be. Amy, Shawna and I went to Salt Lake tonight because Amy was told about some cheap tickets. Luckily the tickets weren't that much. It wasn't bad but it sure wasn't good.
That's all for now, it's late and I'm sleepy.

A Big Purchase

Guess who got a new (used) car!? Me! I got a 2004 Honda Civic. My cousin is a car salesman up in SLC and gave me the family discount so I got a good deal. My old car wasn't in horrible shape but it had seen better days (see previous post about accident). Here is a picture of me and my new car (it's a new dress too but that didn't cost near as much).

I've been tagged...

My friend Kelsey tagged me, which means I get to answer these fun questions:
1. My Name:
Kathleen Opal Palmer, Kathleen because my Mom liked it, Opal because it was my Grandma's name and Palmer because no one has married me yet.
2. Born:
I was born in Vancouver, Washington. August 4, 1974 at 12:07pm
3. Place I would like to visit:
Australia. I would love to see the country, plus I really love the accent
4. Favorite City:
I don't think I have a favorite city, I love where my family is but I can't really say Bremerton is my favorite city.
5. Bad Habit:
Eating out of boredom, lonelyness, happiness, worry....basically eating for any other reason than being hungry.
6. Favorite Animal:
Anything baby that is soft and cuddly.
7. Past love:
Unrequited
8. 1st job:
I worked at the Junior High my senior year of High School, for class credit and some pay, if you could call $4.15 per hour pay. It was really interesing when I had to take a doll around with me everywhere I went for a Psychology class. Junior High kids aren't the brightest kids
9.Another Place I want to visit:
Paris
10. Current Job:
Accounting/Reception/Data Entry for The Evolution Group, we are a financial seminar company.

Thanks Kels for picking me so I had a reason to write something. I'm gonna tag Deon Christensen because she posts even less often than I do!

A little aside for all my overconfidant friends like me, if you think that you don't need to turn the lights on when you're going down the stairs because you know your house and you know how to walk down stairs, you are probably wrong. I was carrying two glass glasses (one half full of orange juice) down the stairs and missed the last one. I ended up in a heap at the bottom of the stairs and covered in orange juice. Luckily I didn't get sliced on the glass. It's nice to know that I have good friends to look after me though. Amy came running down the stairs to be sure I wasn't dead and Ben came over from next door to be sure I wasn't being murdered. All in all it was an exciting evening.
